Loess Plateau; the largest area of yellow soil in the world, which is located to the north of Qinling Mountain and Weihe Plain, to the south of the Great Wall, to the west of Taihang Mountain and to the east of Yaohe River and Wushao Mountain. It covers an area of 300, 000 square kilometers with an altitude of 800-2500 meters and has its highest mountain above 2500 meters. The yellow soil is about 50-80 meters thick and mainly in the temperate zone with a semi-arid climate.
